SAL Annual Review Seminar - Criminal Procedure, Evidence and Sentencing

In this past year, the Supreme Court has continued the trend of issuing guideline judgments to lay down the presumptive sentences that should be imposed for the commission of an offence in defined factual scenarios; and on points of principle in sentencing. On the criminal procedure front, apart from various pronouncement about criminal procedure more generally, the landscape has also changed somewhat in view of the introduction of the Criminal Justice Reform Act 2018. This seminar will discuss selected aspects of these developments and their potential implications.
