Legal Informatics – Coding for Lawyers: Fundamental Concepts and Basic Applications

There has been much talk about how lawyers must be ready for the changing legal landscape and how lawyers must “continue to dedicate time and effort towards understanding emerging technologies”, but how and what exactly do lawyers need to know about such new technologies?

This session aims to (a) get you acquainted with basic programming knowledge–-both theoretical and how programmers actually develop applications; and (b) introduce practical applications of such knowledge to the Microsoft Office suite of software. Programming principles and applications will be explained using live code demos. No prior experience needed.
