Essex Court Chambers (“ECC”) and the Singapore Academy of Law (“SAL”) warmly invite you to the ECC-SAL International Mooting Competition 2019 Final!

 

Come and watch young practitioners pit their advocacy skills against one another at the final of the ECC-SAL International Mooting Competition 2019 on Tuesday, 8 January 2019. Advancing after several gruelling rounds involving 20 other teams of promising young advocates, the finalists now argue their case before an illustrious panel of judges comprising Essex Court Chambers' David Foxton QC. and Judges from the Supreme Court of Singapore.

THE COMPETITION

 

The ECC-SAL International Mooting Competition 2019 offers young practitioners in the region an unrivalled opportunity to develop and demonstrate their advocacy and legal reasoning skills. The moot problem is based on an fictional international commercial dispute governed by English law to be heard and determined in the Singapore International Commercial Court.  The Final will be heard as an appeal to the Singapore Court of Appeal. The winning team will be offered an all-expenses-paid two-week internship at Essex Court Chambers in London, one of the leading commercial sets of barristers’ chambers in England.
