The Criminal Justice Chapter (CJC) of the SAL's Professional Affairs Committee (PAC) is rolling out a series of workshops and seminars specifically designed to raise the standards of advocacy within the Criminal Bar.
Effective Evidence in Chief is at least as important as Cross-Examination. Yet advocates have often overlooked the importance of persuasive Evidence in Chief. The importance of making a good impression from the very beginning should not be understated, and it is essential that a good advocate is equipped to commence his Evidence in Chief in a manner which makes the Judge interested in the narrative they are about to hear.
This workshop will help lawyers acquire essential and practical skills and tips in conducting their Evidence in Chief. There will be 4 parts to the workshop – (1) Theory followed by (2) Role-playing (3) Fireside Chat and (4) Q&A.
